Reverend Dr. William G. Beck, STS
The Reverend Dr. William G. Beck, STS is most recently the Intentional Interim Pastor at Greenford Lutheran Church (NALC) near Salem, OH, and a Chaplain at UPMC Shadyside Hospital. Prior to that, he was a Church-planter in Western New York at Christ Lutheran Church (LCMC), Bemus Point on Lake Chautauqua and simultaneously a Chaplain at Sister’s Hospital in Buffalo, NY and St. Vincent’s Home for the Aged in Dunkirk, NY. He has served as the Visitation Pastor at Zion Lutheran (NALC), Brentwood since 2012 and as An Interim Pastor at Brighton Heights (NALC) for 14 months. Counting from Baptism, Pastor Bill has been a member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dormont, PA, for 85 years.
In addition to an under-graduate degree in Mathematics and graduate degrees in Engineering and Computer Science (Carnegie Mellon University and University of Pittsburgh), Pastor Bill holds a Master of Divinity degree, from Trinity Anglican School for Ministry in Ambridge, PA, a Master of Sacred Theology from the Lutheran Seminary at Gettysburg, and a Doctor of Ministry from the Lutheran Seminary at Philadelphia. His graduate studies in Theology have all centered on the area of Pastoral Care. Pastor Bill also holds a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a member of The Society of the Holy Trinity (STS), a nationwide Lutheran ministerium and a member of the Order of St. Luke (OSL).
Pastor Bill is the father of eight children. grandfather of seven and recently great-grandfather of one. Prior to his call to the Ministry of Word and Sacrament, Pastor Bill was a USAF Fighter Pilot, a Structural Engineer, a University Professor of Computer Science, and a software company founder/owner.
